RATED AMONG TOP 12 FILM FESTIVALS IN US BY

19, 2006. What do the Sundance Film Festival, Seattle
International Film Festival, and the Rhode Island International
Film Festival have in common? They've all been rated
among the top twelve film festivals in the country by
TravelSmart magazine.

According to RIIFF's Executive Director, George T. Marshall,
"RIIFF has been cited as one of the Top Ten Short
Film Festivals in the United States; thanks to our affliation
with the Natonal Academy of Motion Picture Arts and
Sciences. This latest accolade is very heartening as
it came as a complete surprise and ranks RIIFF with
some of the top film festivals in the country.
"Our festival is fast becoming one of the largest
film events in New England and recognized as such. The
number of entrants for this year's festival has quadrupled,
as the popularity of the festival with filmmakers has
grown steadily over the years. We have been recognized
for the quality of our event and the attention we give
to filmmakers."
This year's Rhode Island International Film Festival
will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The dates
