Weather in Rhode Island

It is New England after all...

Photographs 2007 © The Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau

Rhode Island's summer weather is that perfect summer mix. Days are warm, sunny and dry, with the average high around 75° to 85° F. Nights can get cool, with temperatures sometimes falling back into the 60s.

If it does get hot — a rarity even in the summer — it doesn't last long. August is particularly a pleasant surprise as breezes whaft in from the bay during the evening. Temperartures make for great beachgoing, evenings at Waterfire in Providence, and of course seeing all the great films RIIFF has to offer. With our statewide presence, you'll get to experience a real taste of Rhode Island as you take in the Festival (note that all first-run films play in Providence.)

August is also a relatively dry month. The only month that gets less rain on average is July. So enjoy!
