What's New at RIIFF for 2002


Awards

RIIFF presented its first Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 to Academy-Award Award winning actress, Patricia Neal. A Scholarship Fund was also established in Ms. Neal's name.The 2001 recipient was acclaimed director, Blake Edwards.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is now an annual event at RIIFF and the 2002 Award recipient will be announced at the Festival's Opening Night with a special pre-screening reception. The Opening Gala will once again take place at the Rhode Island State House and will be hosted by our Honorary Chairman, Gov. Lincoln Almond.

In 2000, RIIFF presented its first Artistic Vision Award. The recipient was Elaine Lorillard, founder of the Newport Jazz Festival. This award will now be an annual event and will be presented at RIIFF's Closing Gala.

Details will be announced shortly as we honor an industry legend.
