The Rhode Island International Film Festival™ (RIIFF) is calling for gay and lesbian-themed screenplay entries for its 14th Anniversary Festival and its annual Providence Gay & Lesbian (GLBT) Film Festival.

RIIFF will take place August 10-15, 2010 in the state's beautiful capital city, Providence.

How to enter “Barren Branches” GLBT Screenplay Competition:

• Submissions may be either a feature length or a short film script; and will be judged by a distinguished panel of industry professionals, educators, peers and film fans.

• The Grand Prize winner may have segments of the work produced as a central focus during ScriptBiz™, the annual screenplay pitch forum.

• The Grand Prize winner will also receive prizes valued at over $7,500. This includes Final Draft software, travel, lodging and numerous opportunities for screenplay promotion within the industry.

The deadline for 2009 screenplay submissions is July 15, 2010. Winners will be announced by mid-October 2010 (over Columbus Day Weekend). Since the contest winners are announced following the main Festival, the Grand Prize winner’s work will be a focal point for RIIFF 2011.
