About Us

The Creative Impulse Awards ("The Impies") pick up where other award competitions fall short. The Impies exist purely and simply to recognize the creative spark: wherever, however, and from whomever it chooses to glow. They exist to appreciate the art in commerce, the elegance of design, and the beauty inherent in performance.

Did it "sell?" Do we care? It might surprise you to learn that the Creative Impulse Group, author of The Impies, is not comprised of bean counters. We are instead leading professionals drawn from a multitude of creative disciplines. We know how hard you work to put inspiration to paper, commit it to song, launch it to cyberspace, or otherwise bring it to life.

We think it's high time you were recognized for it.

Rules

Deadline for submissions is May 15, 2010

One Project may be entered under multiple categories; separate entry fees will apply. You can select "other" if you do not feel that any of the categories apply. Feel free to create your own category if nothing matches your entry.

Entries will not be returned. If you want to be notified when your entry is received, attach a stamped, self-addressed postcard. You may submit your entry in more than one category at an additional cost. Regardless of how many categories you enter, you only need to submit one item.

We reserve the right to publish and or exhibit any entry. (We will of course credit the artist/artists)

What's eligible? Anything you worked on in 2009. Whatever best shows off your creative spark is eligible for Impie consideration, including creative work in its unfinished form.

Impie Awards have been crafted to reflect the quality of work created by its winners. That said, it is the philosophy of The Impies to make participation accessible to the greatest number of people by keeping entry fees low. Therefore, if Excellence and Distinction award winners wish to formally commemorate their achievements with an etched award suitable for presentation, they will be charged $140. (Duplicate certificates and awards are available at an additional charge.) All winners will receive a foil-stamped certificate at no additional cost.

We recognize that entrants expect award notification in a timely fashion. All entrants will be notified by mail within forty (40) days of the entry deadline. The Impie of Excellence Hall of Winners will be listed at the Impies Awards site and in next year's Call for Entries.

Judges of the 2010 Impie Awards give each entry a grade. Those projects awarded an aggregate ninety-five points and above receive Excellence Awards; those garnering eighty-six to ninety-four points Distinction Award; and those with eighty to eighty-five points will win Honorable Mention.

Judges of the 2010 Impie Award are drawn from top professionals in communications, the media, the arts, business, and entertainment.
